Short biography


Martine De Cock holds a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Ghent University (Belgium). From 1998 until 2005 her activities as a research assistant and a postdoctoral fellow were supported by the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders. Currently she is a professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Ghent University (Belgium). She worked as a visiting scholar in the BISC group at the University of California, Berkeley (USA), the Knowledge Systems Laboratory at Stanford University (USA) and as a visiting associate professor at the Institute of Technology at the University of Washington (USA). Her research interest is computational web intelligence. She is a partner in N2N: A Ghent University Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics.
